The Inauguration of The Shard

The night of July 5th 2012 was officially the unveiling of London’s The Shard in a spectacular light and laser show across the capital. Climbing A Shard of Glass

Climbing a Shard of Glass

The Shard is the building that everyone has had their eyes on since it started to pierce the skyline of London in 2009, and we’ve all been wondering what views it’s going to offer. It’ll certainly be a different way to look at the capital. But thanks to a few individuals over at Place Hacking, they’ve infiltrated the soon-to-be tallest building in the European Union and provided us with a preview!

It’s not due to open to the public until June 2012, just in time for the London Olympics, but this blog provides some fascinating views from the top as well as some of its internal construction. I’ve always been intrigued by photos of abandoned industrial facilities, hospitals, factories, etc. Have you come across any similar blogs? Post a comment with your findings, I’d love to see what we can come up with. Click the image for more on this.
